Cookie Notice

Last updated · 25 May 2026

We keep this short on purpose. SnoutShot uses only the cookies and local storage we need to keep you signed in and to understand how the product is used. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking.

1. What we use

  • Essential cookies and local storage. Set by us and by our sign-in provider (Clerk) to keep you authenticated, prevent cross-site request forgery, and remember your session preferences. Without these, the app cannot function.
  • First-party product analytics. We use PostHog (configured as a first-party analytics provider) to understand which features are being used, where people get stuck, and what to improve. Data is aggregated and used only to run and improve SnoutShot.

2. What we do NOT use

  • No advertising cookies.
  • No cross-site tracking or third-party ad networks.
  • No browser fingerprinting.
  • No data sold to third parties.

3. Why there is no consent banner

Under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, essential cookies and first-party analytics that are used only to improve the service do not require a consent banner in the UK. You still have the right to object — see below.

4. How to opt out

  • Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and local storage for specific sites. Doing so may sign you out and break some functionality.
  • Do Not Track. If your browser sends a DNT signal, we respect it and disable analytics for that session.
  • Email us. Write to [email protected] and we will exclude your account from analytics going forward.
